Fiji’s Minister for Heath and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete officially opened the China-Aid Training Program 2018 Overseas Training Course on Professional Clinical Nursing for Fiji at the CWM Hospital in Suva today.

More than 50 Clinical nurses from all over Fiji are part of the course in collaboration with the Hunan Children’s Hospital of the Peoples Republic of China.

The Minister for Health thanked the team from the Hunan Children’s Hospital of China for bringing this training to Fiji.

“Hunan Children’s Hospital is a friend of Fiji just like China is a friend of Fiji. I note that there are 15 medical workers from Fiji currently studying at Hunan Children Hospital,” Dr Waqainabete said.

Chinese Ambassador in Fiji His Excellency Mr Qian Bo said maternal and child health protection is an important indicator to measure the economic development and social civilization of a nation.

“For this mission the Chinese government has dispatched altogether 7 medical staff for Fiji we hope that it will help in promoting technical exchange in pediatric and clinical nursing and will support the healthy growth of Fijian children.”
