A HEAVY RAIN ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LAU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP, VANUA LEVU, TAVEUNI AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS, THE EASTERN PART AND
INTERIOR OF VITI LEVU.
A southeast wind flow prevails over the group. Meanwhile, an active trough of low pressure lies slow moving just to northeast of the country.
Associated cloud and rain is expected to affect the eastern parts of the group from later today.

For Lau and Lomaiviti group, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, eastern part and interior of Viti Levu:
Cloudy periods with some showers. Isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls especially in the afternoon or evening.
Showers possibly increasing to rain and becoming heavy from later today.
Elsewhere, fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls. Isolated heavy falls may lead to localised flooding of low lying areas.
Moderate to fresh south to southwest winds.
Moderate to rough seas.

Occasional rain, heavy at times with squally thunderstorms over Lau and Lomaiviti group, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, the eastern parts and interior of the other
larger islands with strong easterly winds of 45km/hr and gusts to 65km/hr.
Some showers with afternoon or evening thunderstorms and heavy falls elsewhere.
