Dr. Waqainabete said that after reaching out to this patient, the Ministry of Health determined that he developed symptoms two days after arriving back in New Zealand.
“Whilst it is unclear whether this person got this disease in New Zealand or Fiji and he did not display symptoms while in Fiji. Out and abundance of caution, we wish to advice the public of his itinerary whilst in the country”
Dr Waqainabete confirms that between the 11th to the 13th of March 2020, this person visited the Plantation Island Resort and returned in a ferry to Denarau and the Cloud Nine floating platform. From the morning of the 15th of March, he was at the Duadua Resort and at the Tanoa Hotel in Rakiraki during lunch time.
