The Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts organized a three-day induction training for newly appointed Head of Schools in the Primary and Secondary and Technical Colleges held at Suva Grammar School hall today.

Officiating at the event, Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Hon. Rosy Akbar challenged the new heads of schools to be agents of change and create a conducive and modern educational environment for all young Fijians.

“As leaders we need to understand the concept of being a good leader. This three-day workshop should enable each of you to understand these concepts and also to assist you individually when you take up your new postings in your respective schools.”

Minister Akbar urged the schools’ heads to understand the new Government policies that will be introduced under the education sector and to ensure that this policy is streamlined to all teachers including administrative staff too.

The three-day workshop will focus on areas like; understanding the policies under the Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts, enhancing Teaching and learning environment and introducing a new system of support within their respective schools.
