Staff, family and friends of GIZ in partnership with the Suva City Council cleaned up the capital’s foreshore as part of their corporate responsibility drive and to continue their week long celebrations leading up to Fiji Day yesterday.

The German agency, GIZ has been involved in the Pacific for more than 40 years in the field of international development and is dedicated to shaping a future worth living around the world in a wide variety of areas, particularly addressing the severe effects of climate change on communities.

In this respect, Germany supports – through GIZ by working with the COP23 Presidency of Fiji and through various projects in country in partnership with Pacific Island Governments.

Head of GIZ Pacific, James Macbeth said GIZ works towards context to better the world in partnership with Pacific Island governments and communities, but also by rolling up sleeves and getting down to do some really practical hands-on work as well.
