Fiji Rugby Union has
agreed to release two experienced Fijian 7s players who have signed
professional contracts to play in France.

Both players are
expected to leave in August and are likely to miss the remaining World Rugby
Sevens Series.

Fiji Rugby Union is
ready to release Fiji Airways Fijian 7s duo to join their new clubs in France.

Aminiasi Tuimaba and
Filimoni Botitu have signed contracts with Pau and Castres clubs respectively.

Both players have
been given dispensation to take up their professional contracts.

FRU has also been
negotiating with the clubs to seek release of the two players come Olympics
next year to defend the 7s gold medal.

Tuimaba and Botitu
are expected to join their new clubs once the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.

The duo could miss the remaining legs of this year’s HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series – Hong Kong, Singapore, London and Paris – if they fly out to France in August.
