Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Moore is advising motorists to drive safely amidst the wet weather conditions due to surface flooding, especially in the low lying areas.

§     Princes Road towards the Rewa roundabout end has been reduced to a single lane due to a slip.

§     The Nabukavesi Road in Navua is closed to all traffic due to wash out.

Detour: This is a loop road which connects to Mau, Qilai and Nabukavesi on one end and Veivatuloa on the other loops onto Queens Road.

 The following roads in Navua are affected:

§     Old Queens Road (Waindoi)- Closed

§     Namosi Road- Closed

§     Calia Road- Closed

§     Waiyanitu Road- open to 4WD only

§     Saliadrau Road- open to 4WD only

The following roads are closed in Rewa due to flooding:

§     Buiduna Road

§     Koronivia Road
accessible to 4WD only

The following roads are closed in Naqali due to flooding:

§     Nabukaluka Delailasakau –Waisomo Crossing

§     Vatulili Road – Waidradra cossing
(1st Crossing)

§     Navulokani Road – Waiwatu and Waisa
Crossing

§     Savu Road – Muaniweni flats near Shatnikatan

“Several roads continue to be affected in the Central Division due to surface flooding caused by the heavy rain and we are advising motorists to avoid driving through
flooded water as the depth is hard to gauge. Please continue to keep a safe following distance in order to prevent accidents on wet and slippery roads and avoid driving into flooded areas,” Mr Moore said.
