The 50 million dollars four lane Nakasi to Nausori project is now open for operational purposes.

Fiji Road Authority Chief Executive Office Jonathan Moore conducted the final inspection with the team of engineers while opening the 3 point 7km lane today.

Fiji Roads authority CEO, Jonathan Moore says the four lane Nakasi to Nausori project is now open for operational purposes.

There is still work to be done with regards to power cables, however there will be no inconvenience to road users.

Moore says the road opened six weeks late, because the amount of work increased, to ensure public safety.

The road is designed to last for 25 years, however, Moore says routine maintenance work will be conducted when needed.

He added people need to follow the maximum speed limits to avoid accidents.
