Enrolment for Semester II, 2020 has now commenced at all Fiji National University (FNU) Campuses around the country. Classes for the second semester will begin on Monday 13 July 2020.
Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching), Professor Paul Iji has urged students to apply online to avoid the last-minute rush.
“It is possible to complete the entire enrolment process online.
However, if any student requires additional information and assistance then they are welcome to visit any FNU campus. Campus entrances will be monitored for a health check and social distancing will be maintained.
Staff at all Campuses will be assisting students with the enrolment process and at the same time will provide academic counselling to students who require it.”
According to Professor Iji, the academics at FNU are equipped to help the students prepare for the ‘new look workforce’, in response to the recent global COVID-19 pandemic, which will define how work is done into the future.
The senior academic highlighted that the world is already witnessing potential shifts in the workforce due to the COVID-19 crisis.
“The world has witnessed a number of epidemics in the past one hundred years but most of them were localised, tending to affect only a few countries or regions.
Nothing comes close to COVID-19, in terms of global coverage, driven largely by a very efficient air transport system.” “For the first time, the entire world shut down; grounding international and even intranational travel; business, and education delivery.”
“Keeping all these factors in mind, it is the responsibility of the education providers to prepare the students to meet the changing needs of the workforce and the global economy,” Prof Iji added.
Students are encouraged to visit the University website – www.fnu.ac.fj/pgrmlist-sem2.pdf to explore the wide range of study opportunities on offer and apply online.
