A FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LOW LYING AREAS, SMALL STREAMS AND AREAS ADJACENT TO MAJOR RIVERS IN THE CENTRAL AND WESTERN DIVISION.

A FLOOD WARNING REMAIN IN FORCE FOR LOW LYING AREAS AND AREAS, DOWNSTRREAM OF BA FSC STATION IN THE BA RIVER; DOWNSTREAM OF NAIRUKURUKU STATION IN THE WAINIMALA RIVER; DOWNSTREAM OF NAYAVU STATION IN THE WAINIBUKA RIVER; DOWNSTREAM OF KEYASI STATION IN THE SIGATOKA RIVER.

RIVER LEVEL AT 2AM;

BA’s  FSC WAS 4.30METRES WHICH IS 0.8M ABOVE WARNING LEVEL AND INCREASING; NAIRUKURUKU STATION WAS 8.40METRES WHICH IS 3.40METRES ABOVE WARNING LEVEL AND DECREASING; NAYAVU STATION WAS 11.18METRES WHICH IS 3.18METRES ABOVE WARNING LEVEL AND INCREASING; KEYASI STATION WAS 6.21METRES WHICH IS 1.21METRES ABOVE WARNING LEVEL AND INCREASING.

A FLOOD ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LOW LYING AREAS AND AREAS ; ADJACENT TO KOROVOU RIVER; ADJACENT TO  NASIVI STATION IN THE TAVUA RIVER; DOWNSTREAM TO NAVOLAU STATION IN THE REWA RIVER; ADJACENT TO KEYASI STATION AND DOWNSTREAM OF SIGATOKA RIVER. DOWNSTREAM OF RAKIRAKI TOWN IN THE RAKIRAKI RIVER; ADJACENT TO NAVUA RIVER.

SITUATION

TROPICAL CYCLONE SARAI CENTRE [985HPA] CATEGORY 2 WAS LOCATED NEAR 18.4 SOUTH 175.9 EAST OR ABOUT 175KM SOUTHWEST OF VIWA OR ABOUT 180KM WEST-SOUTHWEST OF NADI AT 9PM TODAY.

CLOSE TO ITS CENTRE, THE CYCLONE IS EXPECTED TO HAVE AVERAGE WINDS OF UPTO 95KM PER HOUR WITH MOMENTARY GUSTS TO 130KM PER HOUR.

THE CYCLONE IS MOVING SOUTH AT ABOUT 20KM/HR AND IS EXPECTED TO TURN AND ‑‑MOVE SOUTHEAST FROM LATER TONIGHT.

THE CENTRE SHOULD BE LOCATED ABOUT 220KM SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF NADI OR 180KM WEST-SOUTHWEST OF KADAVU AT 9AM TOMORROW AND ABOUT 145KM SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF KADAVU AT 9PM TOMORROW.

RIVER LEVEL AT 2AM;

KOROVOU STATION WAS 3.91M WHICH IS 0.6M ABOVE ALERT LEVEL AND DECREASING; NAVOLAU STATION WAS 7.68M WHICH IS 1.68M ABOVE ALERT LEVEL AND INCREASING; RAKIRAKI STATION WAS 2.37M WHICH IS 0.87M ABOVE ALERT LEVEL AND INCREASING.

NASIVI STATION WAS 2.08M WHICH IS 0.42M BELOW ALERT LEVEL AND DECREASING; NAVUA STATION WAS 2.18M WHICH IS 0.18M ABOVE ALERT LEVEL AND INCREASING.
