It helps to build resilience to coastal communities on the impact of climate-induced coastal erosion, storm surges, and coastal flooding.
In commemorating the World Environment day 2020, the Ministry of Waterways launched Fiji’s First Nature-based Solutions Complex in Luvuluvu Nausori last week to ensure the supply of sufficient high-quality planting stock for vetiver to the communities.
The Nature-Based Solution Complex will be a center for educating the general public, inclusive of students, vulnerable’ s on the technical and scientific knowledge on vetiver grass and its benefits. It will comprise of educational materials such as posters & brochures and hands-on practical planting training as well.
