The Fijian government is closely monitoring the current TD04F situation and ready to help Fijians should the need arise.
AG Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and fellow cabinet Ministers received a briefing from response teams on the situation this morning.
Meanwhile, A “Tropical Cyclone Alert” remains in force for Rotuma.

A “Heavy Rain Alert” remains in force for Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Viti Levu, Lomaiviti Group, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands and northern Lau Group.

Tropical Disturbance TD04F was located near 12.6 south latitude, 168.8 east longitude or about 980km west of Rotuma at 6am today.

Close to its centre TD04F is expected to have average winds of up to 40km/hr with momentary gusts to 60km/hr.

TD04F is moving east-northeast at about 7km/hr.

TD04F is expected to gradually intensify into a tropical depression by 12am tomorrow and expected to further intensify into a category 1 cyclone by Thursday evening.

TD04F is expected to move eastwards at about 10km/hr towards Rotuma in the next 24 to 48 hours.

On this track the centre is expected to be located about 610km west of Rotuma at 6pm today and about 160km south-southwest of Rotuma at 6am tomorrow.
