THE Fiji Airways Fijian Drua team paid a visit to the President, Major General (Ret’d) Joji Konrote today, to present their iTatau ahead of their tour to Australia for the Australia National Rugby League tournament this week.
In receiving the team’s iTatau, President Konrote congratulated all members who have made it to the team and reminded them on the importance of their role, not just as a player, but as an ambassador of Fiji.
The Fiji Airways Fijian Drua team will leave our shores for Australia this Wednesday for the Australia National Rugby Championship.
President, Major General (Ret’d) Joji Konrote says he understands just how much hard work it takes and the sacrifices that comes with it, for a player in order to prove themselves in the team.
The Fijian Drua’s 2018 performance was so exceptional, so Konrote reminded the players on the importance of embracing good values and sportsmanship- should they wish to raise the standard they had set last year.
The Fijian Drua won their first NRC title, defeating reigning champion side Queensland Country in the grand final last year.
As defending champions, the Fijian Drua team knows they have a huge task ahead of them.
