The FIJI Water Foundation today donated a range of supplies valued at $20,000 in support of the Ministry of Health’s efforts as it announced the full recovery of the country’s remaining COVID-19 patients.

This latest donation follows a gift from the FIJI Water Foundation in April of bedding materials for the Health Ministry’s Community Isolation Facilities located around the country.

The donation includes supplies specifically requested by the Ministry of Health, including high visibility rain coats, examination couches, portable medical screens, warm blankets, umbrellas, and gumboots.

As the rainy season approaches, supplies such as gumboots and umbrellas will help make life for health workers more bearable, particularly in rural areas.

“These supplies were urgently requested by the Ministry, and
we are glad we could help source them to assist their efforts in successfully
eliminating the virus in Fiji,” said Marie Smith, Manager FIJI Water
Foundation.

Minister for Health Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete was appreciative of the continued assistance from the FIJI Water Foundation, sharing “all these supplies will make a big difference to our health professionals working on the front lines as we work hard to remain free of the virus and also avoid a second wave of infections. Thanks to help like this from the FIJI Water Foundation, it will enable us not to let our guards down as we continue our work.”
