45.7 million dollars will be disbursed to the Fijian government this month to help assist its Tropical Cyclone Harold relief efforts.

The Japan International Corporation Agency is also donating 120 water tanks.

Ambassador of Japan to Fiji Omura Masahiro handed over relief supplies such as tents, water tanks, and generators that were procured through JICA.

“It is our hope that these items will support the people and communities in getting back to some form of normalcy”, he said.

Minister for National Disaster Management Inia Seruiratu says the relief supplies will be disbursed immediately to families impacted by Tropical Cyclone Harold.

Seruiratu said as of today relief efforts have reached about 70,000 Fijians in the affected areas.
