The Fiji Amateur Boxing Association announced that the AIBA (International Amateur Boxing Association) 2020 Oceania Forum will be hosted in Fiji on the 22 February at the Intercontinental Fiji Resort & Spa.
This forum will mark the first time in which the AIBA
President will visit the region and attend the OCBC Forum. This will give him
the opportunity to hear directly from the Presidents and Executives of the 16
National Boxing Federations in the Pacific.
AIBA Interim President, Dr. Mohamed Moustahsane says, “We
need to listen to Oceanian NFs and find appropriate solutions to solve all
existing issues. And step by step we will come to a new powerful strategy for
TheFiji Amateur Boxing Association (FABA), anticipates
participation from national federations from all over the oceania region,
including Guam, New Zealand, Tahiti and Australia as this is one of the most
important AIBA/OCBC forums to be hosted in the region. Also in attendance will
be Dr. Robin Mitchell who is the IOC Member in Fiji, the ONOC President, Acting
President ANOC and the Chairman of the Olympic Solidarity Commission.
FABA President, Mr. Manasa Baravilala, extended a warm
welcome to the AIBA Interim President, Dr Mohamed Moustahsane, and the AIBA
Marketing Commission Chairman, Mr Umar Kremlev. He also expressed his
appreciation to the Dr. Moustahsane for the opportunity to host the AIBA 2020
Oceania Forum in Fiji at the Intercontinental Fiji Resort & Spa.
