Fijian Acting Prime Minister and Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum yesterday signed the Term of Reference (TOR) with Multinational Observer Group for the 2018 General Elections.

AG highlighted that Term of Reference for the Multinational Observer Group was put in place similarly in the 2014 elections.

He added that the Multinational Observer Group will observe and evaluate the functions and operations of the Fijian Elections office in respective to the 2018 Fijian General Elections.

Indications have been made today on when Fijians could head to the polls.

The Chairman of the Electoral Commission highlighted the time-frame while speaking at a press conference this afternoon on the signing of the terms of reference for the Multi national observers group.

By law, Fiji is to hold the 2018 General Election no later than the 21st of November this year.

The President will issue the writ after he is advised by the Prime Minister.
