The Prime Minister’s Tropical Cyclone relief efforts received a major boost with a donation from the Fiji Rotuma Backyard Farmers Association.

Minister for Disaster Management Inia Seruiratu while officiating at the handover ceremony revealed that the Agriculture sector is one of the most affected.

With relief supplies worth over 7 thousand dollars, yams, as heavy as 160kg, taro, and cartons of corn beef were food items donated by the Rotuman Community.

Chairman Fiji Rotuma Backyard Farmers Association Pat Viu says due to the pandemic the association decided to donate the food supplies that are usually displayed during Rotuma Day.

Food supplies will be distributed immediately to the families impacted.
