Fiji received the first batch of medical supplies from China yesterday.

The 52 cartons of medical supplies will assist the Ministry of Health fight against the deadly COVID-19 virus.

Medical supplies worth around $270,000 from the government of the People’s Republic of China were received by Minister for Health and Medical Services, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete at Civic Center.

While thanking the Chinese Government for their assistance Minister Waqainabete said, “On the behalf of Government and the people of Fiji, we thank you sincerely for the support you have given in the fight against Coronavirus here in Fiji.”

“Going forward, this pandemic will only make us stronger and also grant us the ability to share expertise between Fiji and China.”
