Fijians turned out in numbers to receive Fiji’s brand new Airbus A350 in a ceremony at Toulouse in France yesterday.
Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum received the airbus at the handover ceremony.
Sayed-Khaiyum in a social media post wrote the airbus represents a proud moment for the country and also the Pacific.
Fiji Airways CEO and crew also stepped on board the airbus for the first time yesterday.
Fiji Airways has taken delivery of its first brand new Airbus A350 and A900 aircraft, which is the first of two jets that will join Fiji Airways’ fleet.
Both aircraft are leased from Dubai-based lessor DAE Capital.
The A-350 XWB is the world’s most modern and eco-efficient aircraft family, shaping the future of air travel.
Fiji Airways’ first A350 will be displayed at the Dubai Air Show in the next few days.
The new aircraft features a two-class layout for 334 passengers, including 33 in business and 301 in economy class.
The carrier is expected to arrive at Nadi International Airport on November 23rd.
