Every road fatality is a concern for the Fiji Police Force.

This month alone, seven Fijians died due to road accidents.

This was the statement made by the Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra during the Fiji Police Force National Traffic Dialogue ahead of the Festive season operations this morning.

To ensure that there is no fatality this festive season, the Fiji Police Force will be increasing visibility and awareness from the first of December.

SSP Mishra Road fatality said increases during the period and the force is taking proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of road users.

According to the Fiji Police Force statistics,  the road death toll currently stands at 55 and 22 were pedestrians.

SSP Mishra adds pedestrians should also be responsible road-users and parents should be vigilant and be aware of their children’s whereabouts.
