The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) has joined the “wave of support” for the victims of Tropical Cyclones Yasa and Ana by donating $10,000 towards the Prime Minister’s TC Yasa Relief Fund yesterday.
Service Commissioner Mr Francis Kean said the generous donation was collected by the serving members of FCS.
“This is a hearty donation from the officers, men and women of the Fiji Corrections Service towards the Prime Minister’s TC Yasa Relief Fund,” Mr Kean said.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected and also those involved in the rehabilitation efforts.“We hope all rehabilitation efforts will be successful and those affected will be able to rebuild their lives.”
In receiving the donation, Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama acknowledged the kind contribution from the Fiji Corrections Service, adding such assistance will go a long way in improving the lives of those Fijians affected by the cyclones.
He said that rehabilitation works in affected areas, especially in Vanua Levu are well in progress and the Fijian Government will ensure that the necessary assistance reaches the doorsteps of those in desperate need.
Prime Minister Bainimarama also thanked those organisations and individuals who have donated generously to the cyclone victims.
