The Fiji Airways National 7s team is out of the Vancouver 7s main competition.

Gareth Baber coached side went down to South Africa in the Cup semis 31-12.

This means Fiji has lost the title which they won last year.

Aminiasi Tuimaba scored the opening try for Fiji but South Africa proved much stronger and scored two tries to take a 14- 5 lead at half time.

They dominated the second half and were more physical upfront as Fiji lost the plot and could not catch up despite Jerry tuwai scoring in the end.

Fiji will now face United States for third place playoff while South Africa will face France in the cup final.
