Five athletes from Fiji will benefit from the International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Solidarity fund.

Eugene Vollmer, Robert Elder, Tevita Takayawa, Matelita Buadromo and Epeli Rabua are the IOC scholarship recipients.

Increasing its financial support for athletes, the IOC’s assistance has been met with gratitude by the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee.

The recipients hope to be part of the Tokyo Olympic Games next year.

The IOC’s Olympic Solidarity fund has increased its worldwide budget from USD 46 point 7 million dollars to USA 57 million dollars.

Fiji currently has five athletes who are IOC scholarship recipients and receive a training grant.

The Olympic Solidarity athlete programme has been extended until the Olympic Games in 2021.
