The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Team thumped Japan 54 points to 7 to book a place in the Cape Town 7s quarterfinal.

Waisea Nacuqu scored three tries while Jerry Tuwai, Alasio Naduva, Josua Vakurunabili, Aminiasi Tuimaba and Paula Dranisinukula each scored once.

Japan’s only try came from Taisei Hayashi.

Fiji led Japan 35-0 at half-time.

Nacuqu and Isoa Tabu was shown yellow cards in this game

Fiji defeated USA 28-14 in their first pool match and lost to South Africa 26 points to 14 in their second pool game.

Fiji will take on Ireland at 11.02 tonight in the third quarterfinal.

The semifinals will kick off at 1.39am tomorrow and the final will be at 5.56am tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Fijiana 7s team has also qualified for the quarterfinals where they’ll face Australia at 9.12 tonight in the second women’s quarterfinal.
