As part of the response plan for COVID-19, two fever clinics are now operational in Lautoka and work is continuing on a network of these around the country.

This was highlighted by Doctor Aalisha Sahukhan, the Head of Health Protection at Ministry of Health in the latest press conference on COVID-19 this afternoon at Dinem House, Toorak.

“Update on contact-tracing has now been underway for more than 24 hours and good progress is being made in our efforts to trace contacts of the first case.”

Doctor Jemesa Tudravu, the Chief Medical Advisor added that there are no new cases confirmed since Prime Minister’s statement yesterday.

“Please encourage the people not to share rumours or misinformation, use credible sources such as the Fijian Government website, social media pages, the Ministry of Health’s website and the World Health Organisation.

Dr Tudravu also highlighted that he trust the public to adhere ban of mass gathering of more than 20 people and has put his trust in the public to work hand in hand with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services saying, “We are all in this together.”
