The Fiji Development Banks 2019 National Small and Medium Enterprise Awards was officially launched at their Suva Office today.
FDB CEO-Mark Clough says the Awards has evolved to recognizing SME’s that empower and Promote their Peers to be Innovative, Inclusive and Sustainable.
The Awards main Objective is to encourage the growth of Small and Micro Enterprises by providing them a platform of competitive recognition.
In its 15 years of Existence the Awards has offered opportunities to SME’s to be recognized for being innovative and for approaching growth in a sustainable manner. Last year there were 532 Entries. and they want to double that this year.
The Award has been restructured to contribute in progressing global goals such as the Sustainable Development Goals, locally, and the Climate Change Framework as reflected in their new Strategic Plan 2018-2020.
He says this year, 11 innovative and empowering entrepreneurs of sustainable SME’s will be sharing in more than $50,000 in Prize money. There are 4 Categories for this years Awards which includes Woman Entrepreneur of the Year and Youth Entrepreneur of the Year under the Empowerment Awards Category.
Clough thanks all the sponsors that have come on board once again for this years event. The SME Sector in Fiji captures about 60% of the Fijian Workforce
Deadline for the Application Awards will close by the end of December.
