The Fiji Council of Social Services says they will have to review their mandate as the COVID-19 pandemic has brought many topics to light.
FCOSS Executive Director Vani Catanasiga says these are unprecedented times and a ground based humanitarian approach is needed to help those affected in communities.
Catanasiga says their District council members have completed home to home visits, which has given the members the opportunity to hear from families on how they have been affected.
FCOSS has also been developing a civil society organisation protocol for how they will engage during humanitarian response.
FCOSS has confirmed that they will continue to focus on preparing communities for clean up campaigns for prevention of leptospirosis, typhoid, dengue fever and diarrhoea.
