The National Disaster Management Office is advising the general public to be prepared and take heed of the heavy rain warning.
People residing in low lying areas should take heed of this advisory and make preparation to evacuate to higher grounds well before flood waters rise.
Parents are advised to monitor whereabouts of children at all times and to keep them away from flooded drains or waterways.
The general public is also advised to refrain from crossing flooded roads and footpaths.
Mariners are advised to take heed of the strong wind warning, especially, small boat owners not to venture in rough seas to avoid incidents that may cause loss of lives.
