Farmers living in Caboni and Viti Vanua in Tavua were today able to raise their grievances firsthand while meeting the Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Dr Mahendra Reddy as he toured the Western Division.

Minister Reddy spoke to the farmers on ways they can develop and expand their agricultural produce into commercial farming and offered them “Mucuna Bean” – which after planting would strengthen the soil and maintain the nutrients for further planting.

He has also given a stern warning that any stray animals found damaging agricultural produce on any farm will be caught, impounded for 10-days and then auctioned off.
