Today has seen the beginning of the examination period for students across Fiji.
712 examination centres opened today to accommodate 17,365 students in Year 8 who are writing exams in nine subjects.
Examination centres have reported almost 100% attendance for Year 8 students.
Examinations will be written by students:
Year 8 23 to 25 September 2019
Year 6 26 and 27 September 2019
Year 13 14 to 24 October 2019
Year 10 21 to 25 October 2019
Year 11 22 October to 1 November 2019
Year 12 29 October to 8 November 2019
Year 9 4 to 8 November 2019
Year 7 5 to 7 November 2019
120,497 students are scheduled to write exams in 1,936 centres generating 322,624 papers to be marked, excluding Year 7, 9 and 11 which are marked at the school.

Minister of Education, Heritage and Arts said Students should arrive at school on time fully prepared to demonstrate what they have learned in school.
“I would like to thank our teachers for the work they have done with our students to prepare them for these important exams. This is a major operation and I also want to acknowledge over 3,500 other people who are working hard behind the scenes to ensure a seamless process as exam supervisors and markers”.
