Everyone has a role to play in supporting survivors of gender-based violence, according to Edward Kuruwale, Women’s Interest Assistant, Fiji Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation (MWCPA), Kadavu office.

“The police are not the only people to help women survivors of domestic violence ‒ we all have roles and can work together,” says Edward.

In Fiji, development of the Service Delivery Protocol was supported by the National Taskforce on the National Elimination of Violence against Women and led by the Ministry for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation (MWCPA), in partnership with UN Women Fiji Multi-Country Office (MCO) that continues its support through the Pacific Partnership.

UN Women Fiji MCO’s support is through the Pacific Partnership funded by the European Union in the Pacific and Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade with support from UN Women.
