The European Union has stepped up its efforts to assist Fiji’s recovery
from the socio-economic impacts of COVID-19.

A further 20 million dollars will be injected towards Fiji’s recovery.

The European Union continues to stand by its commitment to climate
resilience and disaster preparedness in Fiji and the Pacific.

COVID-19 has caused a noticeable downturn in the economy.

To curb the socio-economic effects, EU Ambassador to Fiji and the
Pacific, Sujiro Seam has confirmed that a further 20 million dollars will be
allocated to Fiji.

A priority continues to be efforts to achieve the green deal and an
ambitious goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.

The EU will continue to equip Fijians on measures to take when a
disaster strikes.

The EU will continue with its programs here in Fiji which focus on climate resilience, disaster preparedness, and humanitarian assistance.
