Officers, men and women of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Engineers Regiment (ENGRS) conducted a parade on Monday, 23 November 2020 by their Commanding Officer (CO), Lieutenant-Colonel (Lt-Col) Semi Mocelutu to start their ‘Community Assistance Week’ before being deployed to various places that require assistance.

Members of the Fiji Engineers Regiment will deploy to various places including the Homes of Hope, Old Peoples Home in Samabula, Fiji Society of the Blind in Vatuwaqa, Saint Christopher’s Home in Nasinu, Dilkuash home, and the Saint Giles hospital.

While addressing the parade, Lt-Col Mocelutu stated that the works which will be conducted include general repairs at these locations which will not only assist those in need but also contribute to collective team building as a unit.

“I hope that this week will be a meaningful and respectable week for all of us in assisting people who need our help.

It won’t be the first, as there will be some other projects that we will be doing in the future…it will also bring us together with the same spirit and same mindset in our daily work and will also make us proud of what we do together as a unit,” Lt-Col Mocelutu said.

The one-week activity will also see the farewelling of the Australian Defence Force Engineers that are present in the country.
