Weightlifting Fiji is waiting for the green light from Government if they can be permitted to conduct training or friendly competitions again.

A non-contact sport that is still restricted, weightlifters have moved into their coach’s residence so that they continue with individual training.

Weightlifting Coach Henry Elder has been forced to turn his garage into a gym amid coronavirus pandemic.

Due to Covid-19 all sporting facilities in the country were forced to close.

While the world deals with the many challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the main issues at hand for athletes is finding a way to stay in shape without access to their usual gyms.

Weightlifters are also maintaining social distancing and following the protocols.

Three weightlifters have moved in with Elder and his family to ensure they get the right training.
