National Hockey rep Tiara Dutta who now resides and studies in Australia was surprised to receive an email from sports journalist, Marco Van Nugteren from the Netherlands.
The reporter was keen to write about her achievement as the top goal scorer for the Federation International Hockey World Series held in 2016 and 2017.
It was a special piece to report as she still currently holds the title.
Dutta was 17-year-old at the time and she still is the top scorer overall in Fiji Women’s Hockey.
Dutta was pleasantly surprised when she recieved a message from the journalist in Netherlands who informed of her achievements.
Her name will go down in the history books of Fiji hockey having scored 27 goals in Women’ Hockey League.
Speaking via a skype – Dutta says receiving the recognition for highest scorer is amazing and she credits her team mates .
Dutta currently plays Division One hockey in Brisbane for the Ascot Panthers Women’s Club.
