Drivers are asked to take extra precaution when driving during a dry spell that is followed by rain.

The Land Transport Authority in a press release, says that when oil and grease build-up on the roads and highways which later combines with precipitation causes slippery roads.

Although the rain washes away most the grime, drivers are urged to take precaution when driving in the rain.

LTA also advises drivers not to use the cruise control as it can cause your car to accelerate when hydroplaning and reduces driver attentiveness.
