The Fijian Government in partnership with the Pacific Community’s (SPC) Regional Rights Resource Team (RRRT) and the Universal Rights Group this morning hosted a ‘Regional High Level Dialogue’ on National Mechanisms for human rights implementation in the Pacific region.
The objective of this Dialogue is to help Pacific Island Countries in implementing and reporting on their human rights obligations, the Sustainable Development Goals, and other national development priorities.
The event held at the Tanoa international hotel in Nadi was officiated by H.E. Nazhat Shameem Khan, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Fiji to the United Nations in Geneva; H.E. Melanie Hopkins, High Commissioner of the United Kingdom; H.E. John Feakes, High Commissioner of Australia and Mr. Miles Young, Director, SPC RRRT.
