Prime Minister Honourable Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama has directed relevant agencies to rebuild the damaged schools in Kadavu particularly, Kadavu Provincial Secondary School and Kavala Bay Primary School.
Following the devastation caused by #TCHarold, 13 houses, including teachers’ quarters and boarding facilities at Kavala Bay Primary School and a few classroom blocks at Kadavu Provincial Secondary School were severely damaged.
Prime Minister Bainimarama has also requested the RFMF engineers to assist in rebuilding the schools.
The Head of Government also visited Namuana Village in Tavuki where he had a ‘talanoa’ session with the villagers.
Among other issues raised was the restoration of power supply. The villagers requested the restoration works of their electricity which was damaged during #TCHarold.
The Prime Minister assured the villagers that rehabilitation works will be carried out accordingly.
The Ministry of Agriculture has also started assisting the villagers with restoring farm produces.
Prime Minister Bainimarama also took time out to meet with the civil servants on the island and thanked them for the “job well done” so far.
The civil servants also had the time to discuss certain issues relating to their work directly to the Prime Minister.
