Fiji still has two confirmed cases of COVID-19 or the coronavirus.
As announced by the Prime Minister yesterday – the two cases are in isolation at the Lautoka and Nadi hospitals.
While stringent measures are in place – the Fiji Council of Churches had communicated to it’s members that restrictions must be followed.
Council President Reverend Tevita Nawadra in an interview with Fiji Ones News says the current situation provides the opportunity for families to spend more time together.
Following the COVID-19 announcement on Thursday last week, the Fiji Council of Churches says the gathering of 20 people or more rule is quite clear.
The Council President says members of the public should help authorities and the Ministry of Health by simply following the preventive measures now already in place.
Referring to a case in Lautoka, Nawadra says it is disappointing when members of the public disregard public advisory .
The Fiji Council of Churches through it’s President is in full support of all precaution and preventative measures that have been put in place by government in the past few days.
