The 2018 Courts Inter District Championship will be played from October 5-10 at ANZ Stadium in Suva.
Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf confirmed that preparation for the most prestigious tournament in the Fiji FA calendar has started.
“We have started working on the plans for this year’s Courts IDC to make sure things are done well to make the tournament memorable like every year, “said Yusuf.
Yusuf said the pool draws for the championship would be done soon.
“The pool draws are expected to be done soon so that the teams could know who they will play in the tournament and prepare accordingly.”
He said like last year eight senior division teams would only participate in the Courts IDC.
“We are still keeping the same format we started last year with best eight senior districts participating in the IDC which give more competitive and exciting senior division fixtures,”
The Chief Executive Officer said eight matches would be played each day where four senior and four premier matches would be fixture.
“The tournament proper starts on October 5 and will see four senior and four premier teams playing in the pool stages till Sunday October 7.”
“On Monday October 8 will be break for district delegates to attend the Fiji FA’s 80th congress which starts at 9.30 am.”
“We will also have our second football symposium on Monday which is compulsory for all district presidents to attend where we will be launching a new app which will link all the district officials, “said Yusuf.
“On the evening of Monday October 8 will be the presentation night for the Vodafone National league winners, “said Yusuf.
Yusuf confirmed that the semi-final will be played on Tuesday October 9 and the finals on Wednesday October 10.
“We will celebrate the Fiji Day before the final on Wednesday, “added Yusuf.
