A total of nineteen military men and women graduated from the ‘Kana Vinaka’ Cuisine Course.
Republic of Fiji Military Forces Headquarters Chief of Staff, Captain John Fox stated in his closing address that the course was the first time for Logistics training outside RFMF. “This is the first time for RFMF to venture outside the Barracks to develop RFMF Logistics skills,” he said.
He later challenged the graduates’ to utilize the cookery skills and knowledge they have learnt from Colin’s and make a cookery change.
Colin K.M. Chung, together with Greg Cornwall, has set up Pacific Islands Resort Consultants, to provide expertise in International Resort & Hospitality Consulting.
Chung conducted a five days theoretical and practical cookery training for the graduates.
The cookery training was made possible with the generous assistance from the Ministry of Education for offering their facility at the Technical College at Robertson Road in Suva.
Chung stated that the main objective of training was to encourage participants to utilize locally produced products which will be a positive contribution to Fiji’s economy.
The cookery instructor stated that members of the community who are interested in learning to cook using local produces may go to www.colinskitchen.co.nz or purchase their cookery book titled Kana Vinaka. Kana Vinaka is Colin’s Cookbook based on Fijian Contemporary Island Cuisine.
