Government has
cleared the way for contact sports to resume in the country.

Under new normal –
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama made the announcement today.

While the contact
sports have been given the green, sporting organisations have been urged to
follow the guidelines when returning to field and officially starting with
their domestic competitions proper.

Good news for
sporting organisations and fans in the country that the contact sports can
start practicing from tomorrow for the first time since March.

Prime Minister Voreqe
Bainimarama made the announcement today – calling this phase 2.

Government gave the all
clear for sports to begin as long as they follow proper safety protocols.

It is up to sports
organizers when to proceed.

The formal indoor and
outdoors sporting venues can host sporting events with spectators at 50 per
cent capacity, so long as physical distancing is maintained within the venue.

For informal sports
events at the community level, the 100-person limit applies.

The Prime Minister has
also urged every sporting people to download the new app called the Care Fiji.

Playgrounds, gyms, pools and sporting courts will be able to reopen from tomorrow.
