The Minister for Rural and Maritime Development announced the construction of 52 foot crossings across the four division in Suva today.
27 of these foot crossings will be constructed in the Western division, 21 in the central, two in the Eastern and two will be constructed in the northern division.
This development comes under the “Hop-Skip & Jump” program.
Reddy said that these developments is a response to the request that these communities have made to the ministry to construct foot-crossings within their communities.
“Developments are to raise the productivity capacity of Fijian communities,” he said.
The Minister gave his permanent secretaries and the relevant commissioners a time frame from the last week of November to the first week of December to construct these foot-crossings.
