The Fiji Roads Authority is conducting various bridge replacement projects around the country.
One of the major projects is the construction of Tamavua- I – Wai bridge in Lami and is a major link between the capital along Queens Road.
The Tamavua -i – Wai two-lane reinforced concrete bridge is 60 percent complete and is on track to be fully operational in the first quarter of 2020.
Fiji Roads Authority Acting CEO Kamal Prasad said 14 bridges are being constructed around the country and FRA aims to demolished old ones that are not suitable for use.
Quality, safety, and better access is a priority for FRA.
Prasad adds the weather will hindermost of the operations but the organisation is set to achieve targets set for this financial year.
