It is a day to remember for Fijians living along the Dreketilailai – Lekutulevu corridor following the opening of their $3.3 million road.
Transportation has always been a major barrier for members of these communities that is mainly made up of farmers.
The Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama while officiating at the event said this initiative would undoubtedly open up new markets and opportunities for these farmers.
“As an investment of $3.3 m, this new 4 kilometre road has three crossings, these will serve as an invaluable connection for the Tikina of Labasa and the of Vaturova, and provide access to all villagers and settlement along the Bulileka road including our most remote farming communities,” the Prime Minister said.
