The Western Division Police Family yesterday welcomed the Commissioner Western Mr Mesake Ledua on his official visit to the Western Division Command Center.
Divisional Police Commander West (DPC/W) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sami Surend provided a brief overview of Policing operations in the Western Division and its capabilities.
Mr Ledua was accorded a traditional welcome by the Command Group before visiting the new Lautoka and Nadi Police Station sites where he was briefed on its progress.
After the visitation members of the Command Group held a talanoa session with their Commissioner Western, hosted by officers at the Nadi Police Station.
Mr Leuda said two days after taking up the post of Commissioner Western, the first COVID-19 case was recorded in Lautoka, followed by Severe Tropical Cyclone Harold which was a challenging period for him in his new role.
He added that during his baptism of fire, his work was made easier with the support of Government Ministries and the Fiji Police Force with the support rendered to his office during a challenging period for their respective Division.
