The United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres will be in the country for the very first time next week as part of his offical visit to the Pacific.
The visit is specifically in preparation for the lead up to the Climate Action Summit in September.
As part of his visit the UNSG will also be addressing the Parliament.
UN Resident Coordinator for the Pacific Islands Sanaka Samarasinha said the agenda for Fiji is the meeting with the head of state, a short address to parliament and an event that will focus on youth for climate action at the University of the South Pacific.
The visit will also be an opportunity for the UNSG to see the challenges Fiji and Pacific face due to Climate Change
