The Chinese CAISSA Tourism Cruise Group was welcomed into the Suva port with a Christmas Fijian Bula.
Tourists from China, Australia, America and Germany were on board the cruise ship on its second-ever to the South Pacific.
The Suva Port welcomed Christmas in style this morning with the berthing of the Costa Atlantica Cruise Ship According to the Chinese ambassador to Fiji this trip is a gift of China to Fiji and will enhance tourism and cultural exchange.
The Chinese tourism sector contributes significantly to the Fijian government and depicts the significance of the arrival of the Costa Atlatica in the Fiji waters.
This is the second time in three years that the Costa Atlantica Cruise Ship is arriving in Suva and will be sailing to Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands before heading back to China.
“We came to Fiji in 2016and this is our second time here in Suva. After Suva, we will be visiting Port Villa in Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands before going back to China.”- Tao Ren-CAISSA Tourism Group-Executive Deputy General Manager.
The price per cabin varies and the cheapest cabin available on the cruise costs approximately 50 thousand Chinese yuan which is equivalent to 15376.6 Fijian dollars.
The Costa Atlantica Cruise Ship stop here in Fiji is part of its 53-day cruise across the south pacific.
The cruise ship has over 1800 passengers on board who have happily experienced a Fijian Christmas at the capital city today.
