Being one of the three Female Students from the four schools to be part of the First Global Challenge was an Exciting Experience for 18-year-old Carolyn Brigid.
The Suva Grammar School Student is amongst 8 students selected who are currently undergoing training with the staff of the University of the South Pacific in the next two months on how to design, construct, and program a robot before they head to Dubai for the main Global Challenge Event in October.
Brigid says its going to be an exciting time of learning in the next 2 months as she along with 7 other passionate Year 13 students, create and Program a robot for a sports-like competition using a standard kit of components and is ready to represent Fiji
USP is again participating in the international Robotics competition organized by the FIRST Global Higher Education Network for high school students.
FIRST Global organizes a yearly international robotics challenge to ignite a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics among the more than two billion youths across the world. The Dubai Government will be sponsoring the Trip of the students in October.
Last year over 2,500 Youths from 186 Countries were part of the Challenge Held in Mexico.
The Event that builds bridges between high school students with different backgrounds, languages, religions and customs from around the World.
